Cuisine: American
Servings: 1
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard full grain
- 1 tbsp breakfast syrup
- 2 waffles leftover homemade or store-bought. If using frozen store-bought, cook prior to making your sandwich.
- 1/4 cup Borden Cheese Thick Cut Shreds, Mild or Sharp Cheddar divided
- 1/2 apple thinly sliced
Preheat a counter griddle (panini press) such as a foreman grill to medium heat. Spray with nonstick spray (I like coconut oil).
Mix together the dijon and syrup in a small bowl. Set aside.
Lay the waffles side by side and place half of syrup mixture onto the inside of each piece.
On the waffle that will be the bottom of the sandwich, sprinkle half the cheese, onto the syrup.
Layer the apple slices over the cheese.
Sprinkle the remaining cheese. Cover with the other waffle, sauce side down.
Add the sandwich to the griddle and close sandwich inside. Cook for 5 minutes or until waffles are toasted and cheese is fully melted.
Cut sandwich in two and serve. Enjoy!
