Shrimp Marinade Recipe

Use this simple shrimp marinade to make flavorful grilled shrimp!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning store-bought or homemade
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional, for spice
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined (thawed if frozen)
  • Choped fresh parsley optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, Italian seasoning, dijon mustard, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt and pepper together.

  • Add in the shrimp and toss to combine. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes and up to 2 hours.

  • Skewer the shrimp onto metal or wood skewers.

  • Preheat the grill over medium-high heat. Brush or spray the grates with oil.
  • Grill the skewers for 2-3 minutes per side or until the shrimp are opaque. Remove from the grill and serve.

Notes

  • For a milder recipe, omit the red pepper flakes.
  • If you are using wood skewers, soak them for 1 hour before skewering the shrimp and grilling.
Storage: Store grilled shrimp in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
