My loaded fries are crispy on the outside, tender in the middle, and totally irresistible!! The best part? You don’t need to make french fries from scratch, just use store bought fries, pop in the oven and voila!
I loaded them with shredded parm for that sharp and cheesy hit, even the little ones will love these amped up french fries!
The garlic Parmesan butter provides the most mouthwatering coating over the golden fries, and it’s easy to make a big batch! Soft Pretzels, Skillet Brussels Sprouts, Baked Chicken Wings, Air Fried Pasta Chips and Baked Tortilla Chips are few of my garlic parmesan flavored recipes apart from french fries, proof how much I love this seasoning.
Parmesan Garlic Fries
There’s something about matching garlic with parmesan which really elevates fries. That sharp tang of the parm with the mellow, slightly sweet garlic – I must say it is a match made in flavor heaven! Baked Parmesan garlic fries are so simple to make, great for a crowd and utterly yummy. Perfect for parties, game day or BBQ, as a side.
You can absolutely make garlic flavored parmesan fries with homemade french fries. Simply toss your homemade fries in the garlic-parmesan butter before serving. You will love my similar recipe homemade shoestring fries!

Ingredients
- Frozen fries: I’m using frozen shoestring fries in my recipe. Homemade french fries works in a similar way. Frozen fries are a huge time saver for those busy weeknights and in gatherings.
- Garlic salt: If you don’t have garlic salt, you can use a mixture of kosher salt and garlic powder. Use a ratio of 3 parts salt to 1 part garlic.
- Parmesan cheese: Freshly grated parmesan will go BEST for experiencing most flavors. If not handy, use any store bought grated one.
Can I make fries in an air fryer?
Yes, you can! Many frozen fries have air fryer instructions included on the packaging. If yours do, follow those instructions. If not, place the fries in the basket of an air fryer and lightly spray with cooking spray. Air fry at 400°F for about 20 minutes, shaking the fries halfway through. All I need that brown crispy look.
Tips For Success
- This french fry recipe is endlessly customizable. Instead of garlic parmesan flavoring you can try other seasonings like Ranch, Italian, Blackened and Everything But the Bagel.
- Homemade fries or Frozen one, both works great to make parmesan garlic fries.
How to Store and Reheat
Store leftover garlic parmesan fries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Reheat in the oven until crispy.
I do not recommend freezing garlic parmesan fries.

5-Star Review
“I made this last night and it was the moistest chicken we’ve ever had. A bit of crispy and the flavor was wonderful. I didn’t have buttermilk and did add lemon juice to 1% milk. I am making it again today. Thank you for this recipe.” – Dawn

How to Make Garlic Parmesan Fries with Frozen Fries
Bake the Frozen Fries: Check the package instructions for the fries and cook accordingly. I am using a bag of 16 ounces frozen shoestring fries, bake as per instructions.
Melt Butter and cook garlic: While the fries cook, melt 2 tbsp (¼ stick) unsalted butter, add 1 clove of minced garlic, and saute over low heat.
The butter will start to melt. Brown the garlic until slightly toasted for about 90 seconds.
Add spices and cheese: Stir in ¼ tsp of garlic salt, ⅛ tsp of freshly ground pepper, 1 pinch of ground cayenne pepper, and ¼ cup of freshly grated parmesan cheese.
Cook until the parmesan cheese is melted, and take off the heat.
Combine fries and garlic parmesan butter seasoning: When the fries are crispy, remove them from the oven and put them into a mixing bowl. Pour the garlic parmesan butter over the fries and toss to coat evenly.
Add the fries to a serving platter or individual plates and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. Enjoy!

These fries are sooooo good!!! I sliced my own and cooked in the air fryer, then added the butter mixture (which contained an extra 2 Tbsp of butter!) and oh my goodness!
So glad you enjoyed them, Amanda!
