The easiest way to clean mushrooms is to rinse them in a colander to wash away the dirt. Gently brush off any dirt, then pat the mushrooms dry.

Yes, you need to use either oil or melted butter. Otherwise, the mushrooms will be dry and unpleasant. For a lower calorie option, spray the mushrooms with cooking spray.

Becky’s Tips

  • Quickly rinse the mushrooms. Avoid soaking them in water.
  • Do not crowd the mushrooms in the air fryer, or else they won’t get crispy. Fry in 2 batches if necessary.

Loved these mushrooms on the pizza. It’s just the two of us, so I didn’t make pizza dough from scratch, but used a frozen cheese pizza for the base. (Don’t judge, your lifestyle may change sometime!). I used really fresh, good baby Bella mushrooms and sliced them rather than cutting in half. I added Italian seasoning in addition to the other seasoning in the recipe. I did cook in two

batches and added mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Haven’t tried these yet as a side or with steaks, but believe they will be great.5 stars
