I love everything about Texas Roadhouse: the food, the free peanuts, and especially the rolls and honey cinnamon butter! I always ask for extra to take home, but let me tell you it is never enough. I never would’ve imagined how simple it is to make Texas Roadhouse butter at home, but it really is so easy– just salted butter, honey, and a little ground cinnamon. I’ll never be in danger of running out of all that buttery goodness again!

The last time I brought home rolls and butter from Texas Roadhouse, it mysteriously disappeared after I went to bed. That’s when I knew we had a problem, so I got right to work. This Texas Roadhouse butter recipe received nods of approval from my whole family, and it’s so easy to make that even my kids like to join in on the fun!

What’s in This Texas Roadhouse Butter Recipe?

  • Butter: Salted butter is the key to a rich and flavorful spread. I love to use European-style butter because it has a higher butterfat content and whips up beautifully. The salt helps to bring out the natural flavor of the butter and enhances the sweetness of the honey.
  • Honey: A natural wildflower honey works beautifully. If you have access to some local honey, even better.
  • Cinnamon: Ground cinnamon adds a bit of warming spice that rounds out the spread.

Tips for Success

  • Leave the butter out at room temperature for at least an hour. I do not recommend microwaving the butter to bring it to room temperature more quickly, as that can mess up the consistency.
  • I prefer to use runny honey so that it incorporates evenly. You can briefly microwave the honey to get it to a drizzling consistency.

How to Store

Store leftover Texas Roadhouse honey butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. You can also wrap it tightly in parchment paper and place it in a Ziplock bag in the freezer for up to 3 months. Let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator before using.
