This apple dip is perfect for sharing (or not– I won’t tell!), and it’s so easy to make. I recommend making a double batch because this dip disappears in minutes!

There’s just something about caramel and apples together. It’s so perfect for autumn! If the weather is getting cool you better believe I am making this dip. This cream cheese caramel apple dip is creamy, dreamy, and just a little lighter on the calories and sugar.

Tips for Success

How to Store

This cream cheese caramel apple dip should stay fresh for 3-5 days when properly stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It’s great that it lasts a few days, but I always prefer it on the first day or two after making it. So delish!

Serving Suggestions

I made this creamy caramel dip with apples in mind, so of course I recommend serving this with apple slices. I love Honeycrisp, but Braeburn, Pink Lady, or Gala are also delicious. For a tart pairing, opt for Granny Smith!

I think it would be amazing as a caramel fondue! Cube other goodies, like cheesecake, brownies, or pound cake, and dip in the caramel sauce for a delicious treat!

  • 8 ounces fat-free cream cheese 227 grams, room temperature (1 brick)
  • 4 ounces light cool whip 114 grams (½ tub)
  • 16 ounces sugar-free caramel sauce 453 grams
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips 85 grams, optional

  • Using a hand mixer, blend the cream cheese, Cool Whip, and caramel sauce until well combined.

This recipe is great! We made it at a Christmas Eve party and everyone loved it! Thank you for sharing. What would you estimate as a serving size? A TB? 2 TB, maybe? I’m not sure where other people are getting their calorie count for 12 servings but mine comes out pretty low compared to what it could be, I just reduced the amount of caramel sauce by a few ounces and it’s not too bad. Especially for serving it at a party so other people can share the calories with you. :) It’s definitely a better alternative to what the calorie count per serving could be!5 stars

Just to clarify. This is not “skinny” cream cheese contains quite a bit of fat. But it does look delicious, you can splurge once in a while right?

You can make your own whipped cream, whip a carton of cream until it has firm peaks.

The recipe was meant to cut down calories and fat from the original recipe. It makes enough for a group of people to enjoy. If you sit in front of the TV and have it all to yourself, then you’ve just made the skinny version a big caloric and fatty problem. You can alter this dish to make it “skinnier” for the super calorie conscious person and omit the chips. Use fat free cream cheese and cut down the amount of caramel the recipe calls for. Just remember, in the food recipe world, the word “skinny” doesn’t necessarily mean low fat and low calorie. It simply means the calorie and fat bar is lowered.5 stars

I go to our big family dinner each Sunday. I usually bring a side. I made this and brought it last Sunday. Everyone loved it!! They were eating it by the spoonfuls without apples!! They went on and on about how this would be good in a pie. I omitted the white chocolate chips because I forgot to buy them. Another bonus is we have to be gluten free to accommodate some family members so this fit the bill!! Thanks for sharing!!5 stars

I’m sure this tastes good, but I don’t understand how it can possibly be “skinny” with an entire jar of caramel sauce in it? One jar of the Snickers Salted Caramel is 176g of sugar (22g per serving) That’s just a lot of sugar…
Definitely in the full on dessert category for me…3 stars

Hey Katherine- I definitely understand your hesitation. This isn’t really healthy, its just a way to slim down an otherwise very unhealthy recipe. This dip makes a TON, so there are a lot of servings. The substitutions are supposed to make it a bit skinnier, but its definitely not meant to be an actual healthy dish. Could you use something like smuckers sugerfree ice cream topping instead of the carmel sace to get rid of some of th calories and carbs?
