SAUSAGE ROLLS are kind of like Pigs in a Blanket, but I’ve transformed them into a fun bite-size appetizer! Paired with a sweet & spicy Pepper Jelly, these Mini Sausage Rolls are sure to please. We are addicted to these little sausage rolls and I guarantee they will be gone in minutes. So much flavor for such a small recipe!
Sausage Rolls with Pepper Jelly
Sausage rolls are a classic British snack food, similar to Pigs in a Blanket. I’ve transformed them into an easy and fun appetizer with a tasty Pepper Jelly!
A great holiday recipe is something everyone should know how to make. You need a go-to that you can bring to potlucks and parties at Christmas time. Something you can make quickly, and you know it will knock their socks off at that NYE or Superbowl get together. I love these PEPPER JELLY SAUSAGE ROLLS because they’re a twist on a classic (you already know I love Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket) but is still unique enough to be requested time and time again.
I love the sweetness of these mini sausage rolls, mixed with the tang from the grainy mustard, and just the right amount of spice from the pepper jelly. I love that they’re delicious both served hot or cold, and I love that they’re bite sized appetizers. That means you can eat 10 and not feel guilty…right?
This Sausage Rolls Recipe is the perfect bite-sized appetizer, and they’re even better with the Pepper Jelly!
Mini Sausage Rolls – The Perfect Party Appetizer
These mini sausage rolls are the perfect, poppable, bite sized appetizers for Christmas. The only problem is how hard it is to eat just one! You can pretty much guarantee that a double batch will be necessary. Especially once you add on that pepper jelly.
We ate these for a full meal in our house. Can you blame us?! They’re just too fun and delicious. Holiday baking is good and all, but I love the holiday appetizers the most. Please give me all of the meatballs, dips, nachos, and of course these Pepper Jelly Sausage Rolls. These are making it on all of our holiday menus for SURE. Yum yum yum.
What is Pepper Jelly?
Pepper Jelly is exactly what it sounds like: it’s a jelly made with peppers. There are different varieties, so some might be more sweet while others are more spicy. But the mix of flavors is so good, especially when paired with these little sausage rolls.
I like things with a little bit of heat but not way too spicy. That’s why pepper jelly is perfect. Sugar and spice and everything nice! I used it in this hot pepper jelly dip too.
How to Make Pepper Jelly
I know you guys are gonna love these Pepper Jelly Sausage Rolls as much as we do. You guys are my people. Pepper Jelly can be found pre-made at many grocery stores or gourmet food shops.
But if you can’t find any at the grocery store, you can always learn how to make your own pepper jelly. The process is the same as preparing any jelly or preservative. Try using this homemade pepper jelly recipe to get started.

Yes Becky, its really hard to wrap dough around a piece of sausage ( meow) How to Pictures would DEFINITELY help those who failed KINDERGARTEN (meow)
wow that’s very rude…Becky please keep doing your page however you like. It is yours after all. I just hate it when people come into my home and feel the need to tell me what I am doing wrong. Manners just don’t seem to be taught anymore.
do you use PRe cooked sausages?
We did. They were fully cooked although recommended to heat before eating.
Can these be made Early and refrigerated?
Yes I think so, I haven’t done that but I don’t see why not. I would warm in the oven when ready to serve.
In step #6 can you clarify what you mean by “cut side up”? If the dough goes around the outside of the sausage, aren’t both sides of the sausage the “Cut Side”? Or does the dough go all the way around the edge and flat side of the sausage as well?
Can’t wait to make these… they look delicious!
I meant cut sausage side up, but I totally see how that was confusing. I’m re-wording that now. Thanks for pointing it out! Hope you have a wonderful holiday :)
Will this also work with just a regular muffin tin or does it have to be a mini muffin tin?
A mini muffin tin definitely works best. You could use regular but they might be quite a bit bigger. Still would be great though!
What brand of pepper jelly did you use. I did not see a list of brands. I have never ussed pepper jelly and would like to follow your ingredients to the letter.
We used this brand: https://www.google.com/shopping/product/784315783436290246?q=pepper+jelly+brands&biw=1209&bih=612&dpr=2&prds=paur:ClkAsKraXzGvosFJKv45FfJMukNCR3jKUhRDS-fuXCA8xTmN7PtTXTjcyuo7jGPGipuGc6FiOMbW0nibE5ZytRrRPLi1Ds82sN2VkFwb8oe4WRkYI4XOCKa0GBIZAFPVH70KdrIY7EyPS4-crsbtMI92hbMZQQ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjV1MPsrZLYAhVISiYKHXuQAZUQ8wIIswMwCA but really any red pepper jelly should work great :)
this looks delicious!!! Do you think it woud work with puff pastry?
Yes it would! We actually made it that way last night and it worked great :)
Oh wow!!!This looking so yum!!!I can’t wait to make this! Thanks for sharing!Merry Christmas!
Thanks Aria! You too :)
I love your blog and most of the recipes, however, I do not need 10 pictures of the completed item. would be helpful to see some of the steps along the way from start to finish
Hi Patty! I totally understand your criticism…I get a little carried away with the photographs sometimes because that is my passion. I typically don’t have time to photograph the process since having a baby, but I’ll do my best to incorporate that in more when possible. Hope you have a wonderful holiday!
Hi Becky, please don’t take patty’s comments as criticism. I too would love to see a couple of pics of the process. I love your recipes and pics and Would feel more comfortable seing the process. Thank you for all you do to maKe us feel more comfortable trying different recipes. You are a treasure.
I totally understand, thank you for the sweet words Marie. I just don’t have time at this time to do a lot of step by step shots. I put a lot of care into setting up the shots so I’m pretty slow. I’m trying to incorporate that in the future. So glad to have you as a reader!
Thank you for your respOnse, dont worry about us ole winY people ???? and keep doing what you are doing ????
