Baked Cheese Sticks (Ham & Cheese)
This Baked Cheese Sticks Recipe is a healthier take on fried Cheese Sticks. They’re filled with Ham & Cheese for a whole new flavor! It’s such a fun idea for a kids dinner, but you’ll want to sneak a bite or two.
We are BIG fans of mozzarella cheese sticks around here but I don’t really want to be feeding Henry a bunch of fried foods. These are the best of both worlds. They’re easy to make, super flavorful, full of melty cheese, and baked to perfection!
It’s like a ham and cheese sandwich, wrapped up into an easy (and fun) to eat stick.

Easy and fun! I couldn’t find egg roll wrappers so used spring roll, since that’s what the store had. Not sure of the difference. Only complaint that they didn’t get nice and brown, even with additional baking time. But, they were tasty and the family liked them. Will make again.
I’m so happy you all enjoyed them!!
Perfect for my grandson
Enjoy! :)
Becky, Could these be made ahead of time and frozen? If so, before baking, should they be thawed out?
Or, would it be better to to prepare, bake and then freeze? Then when ready to use, thaw and rewarm in the oven?
Could these be made ahead, frozen and heated later ? After school snack for kids
Sure!
Would this work with Turkey?
Totally!!
Going to use tofurkey slices and daiya cheese to make it healthier, better for the environment and for the animals
Please share some dipping sauces that you find works well. (tomato soup would make my husband swoon), but I want to have more choices.
Love the tomato soup option! I used marinara sauce and honey mustard but I also think ranch or buffalo sauce would be good!
Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that :(
I would line the baking sheet with parchment for easy clean up.
Good idea!
You can Use flour tortilla and sub the ham with pepperoni. Then you have a pizza snack. Yum!
Awesome idea!
