What’s in this Cheeseburger Dip Recipe?
This cheeseburger dip is loaded with hamburger, two types of cheeses (three if you count cream cheese!), bacon, tomato, onion, and pickles. It’s hot and tasty and ready to be eaten. It’s just begging to be devoured with friends and family!
- Ground Beef: The base of all good burgers is good quality ground beef. I like to use lean beef (85-90%), but you could use any beef since we’re draining off the excess fat.
- Cream Cheese: Makes this dip ultra-creamy and tangy.
- Cheddar Cheese: A classic cheeseburger topping that gives this dip a great sharp cheesy flavor.
- Swiss Cheese: Adds a milder, nuttier cheesy flavor to the dip.
- Sour Cream: Makes this dip creamy and tangy.
- Mayonnaise: Adds richness and flavor.
- Garlic: Gives a pungent and savory flavor to the dip.
- Onion: Adds sweetness and depth of flavor.
- Bacon Crumbles: Add a smoky and salty flavor.
- Cilantro: Adds freshness and a hint of citrus flavor.
- Chopped Tomatoes: Adds freshness, acidity, and a chunky texture to the dip. I like to use Pico de Gallo in my dip for an extra burst of flavor.
Pro Tip: I’ve used low-fat and light options for a lot of these ingredients. Just to help lighten up this recipe a bit!
Variations on Bacon Cheeseburger Dip
Add your favorite burger toppings and condiments to this dip to create your own unique take! Use ground turkey for a turkey cheeseburger dip. Try adding frizzled onion, barbecue sauce, and diced avocado for a cowboy burger dip. Add caramelized onions and use all Swiss cheese for caramelized onion and Swiss burger dip. Or add some pimento cheese to make pimento cheeseburger dip! Drizzle your dip with my favorite burger sauce to take it to the next level!
You can use ground turkey, chicken, or pork instead of beef for a lighter option, or use just crumbled bacon for a smoky flavor.
Yes, you can make cheeseburger dip ahead of time and refrigerate it until ready to serve. It can also be reheated in the oven or microwave.

No, this dip does not freeze well. The texture will change once thawed, and the dip will be gritty and unpleasant.
How to Store and Reheat
Store leftover cheeseburger dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat covered with foil in a 350°F oven for 15-20 minutes or in a crockpot set on low heat for about 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally, until heated through. I do not recommend freezing this dip.
Serving Suggestions
This cheeseburger dip is delicious served with tortilla chips, pita chips, crackers, or crostini. You can also dip fresh veggies, like carrots, celery, broccoli, and cauliflower for a healthier option. If you’re a pickle lover, I like to dip refrigerator pickles or fried pickles in mine!
