This apple pie Moscow mule is so fun for Fall! It still has that classic ginger flavor, but I amped it up with apple cider and apple pie vodka– yum! This cocktail has just 3 ingredients and is super easy to make. It’s perfect for parties, and it’s one of my absolute favorite drinks.

It’s officially Fall, so that means it’s time for apple pie cocktails! I’m always in love with anything that tastes like apple pie, so allow me to introduce you to the apple pie Moscow mule! I just love Moscow mules. The super cold copper mug, the refreshing ginger beer, how very very customizable they are. So much to love. And guess what, apple and ginger are a match made in heaven. I’m pretty excited about this one… can you tell?
What’s in This Apple Pie Moscow Mule Recipe?
- Apple Cider: This is the key to getting tons of apple flavor into this drink. I highly recommend some farm-fresh cider for the best taste, but apple juice will work in a pinch.
- Apple Pie Vodka: Adds spiced apple pie flavor. In a pinch, you can swap it out for caramel vodka.
- Ginger Beer: Brings that Moscow Mule flavor with sharp notes of ginger. I used Reed’s, but any brand should work well!
Tips for Success
- I highly recommend shaking this cocktail rather than stirring. It helps really blend the flavors together.
- Do not add the ginger beer to the shaker. The bubbles will cause the shaker to leak everywhere.
- These cocktails are best enjoyed as soon as they are made.
- Copper mugs are well worth investing in if you love mules. Not only do they look super pretty, but they help to keep your drink icy cold.
Apple Cider Mule Mocktail
To make this tasty mule into a mocktail, simply omit the vodka. Yep, that’s it!
Serving Suggestions
You can of course enjoy these fall Moscow mules as they are, but I love to add a couple of cinnamon sticks and apple slices. Just before you take a sip, you get all of those wonderful aromas.

I know this is an old post, but with New Years coming I wanted something new. Do you think it would be possible to make this using green apple vodka and just adding cinnamon or apple pie spices in a jar?
We think it could work, but it would definitely not be as apple-y! You could try regular apple juice instead of cider!
Excited to make this! How many ounce ginger beer should be used?
Thank you for sharing! Where do you find the apple pie vodka? I’ve had a challenging time finding this.
We just get it at our local grocery store, Pearl, Firefly, and Ole Smoky all have versions. Smirnoff has an Apple Vodka that would work well. You can also try our easy Homemade Apple Pie Vodka!
Is it the non-alcoholic ginger beer you are adding – or the actual ginger beer?
Yum! I’m on a mule kick right now, so I pinned to add to my collection. Hopefully I can try it soon!

yum! What a great idea! I was obsessed with the caramel vodka and apple cider two years ago when you made the sangria… I think it’s time to revisit it and buy a new bottle :)

I am an absolute sucker for anything containing ginger beer and apples (separately or together ;) ) so these are obviously going to have to happen ASAP. Yum!!!!
