What kind of apples are best for making the apple syrup?

I like to use Granny Smith apples that have a nice tart flavor. Pink Ladies or Honey Crisp bith work great too, but in a pinch, most apples will work well.

You will be able to make around 10 drinks with this apple syrup. Keep the syrup covered in the fridge and it will keep well for 1 to 2 weeks.

Can I add caramel to make this a caramel apple macchiato?

Yes! I sometimes like to drizzle a little caramel sauce on top of the coffee, or, you could mix in a couple of tablespoons with the milk and apple syrup.

Can I use non dairy milk in this macchiato recipe?

You can use dairy or plant based milk to make this drink. Almond, oat milk, and soy all work well.

I love the crisp and fresh flavors in this macchiato. Make the apple syrup once and enjoy this drink in minutes! If you love apples, you’ll love this drink.

The first time I made this I couldn’t find apple cider in the store so I bought sugar free apple cider packets and it still turned out wonderful! I’ve made a second batch today, after getting my hands on a jug of apple cider and I’ve doubled the recipe to share with a friend. This recipe is delicious!5 stars

Hi Carrie, this is a simple syrup, which does have a more liquid consistency than the coffee shop syrups you may be used to. You can continue to simmer it over low heat until it thickens up more to your liking if you prefer, but it may begin to take on a caramelly flavor!

Hi Jackie, the ingredient called for is apple cider, not apple cider vinegar! Apple cider is unfiltered apple juice!
