I love an easy appetizer with a big flavor payoff, and these honey garlic meatballs totally fit the bill. The sauce is made from pantry staples I always keep on hand, and I used frozen meatballs for ease. So simple and addictive! These beautiful bites are made for the holidays, game day, movie night, or any time you want a big batch of scrumptious appetizers!
What’s in This Honey Garlic Meatballs Recipe?
- Frozen Meatballs: I used bite-sized beef party meatballs, but any size and type of meat will work.
- Garlic: Enhances the savory flavor of the meatballs.
- Ketchup: Adds a sweet tomato flavor to the sauce.
- Honey: Adds a floral sweetness to the sauce.
- Soy Sauce: Low-sodium soy sauce adds a salty and umami flavor to the sauce.
- Brown Sugar: Adds a touch of warmth and sweetness to the sauce.
- Scallions: Add a pop of fresh onion flavor and color.
Tips for Success
- Be sure to spray your slow cooker with cooking spray.
- Turn these meatballs into sliders with some mini slider buns or a sliced baguette.
- Give it a spicy kick by adding some chili flakes.
How to Store and Reheat
Store leftover honey garlic meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in a pot set over medium-low heat until warmed through. I do not recommend re-freezing these meatballs.
Serving Suggestions
These crockpot honey garlic meatballs are so good as part of any appetizer spread, but I love that I can also turn them into a complete meal. I like to serve them over mashed potatoes or Basmati rice with my Asian cucumber salad.

We don’t really like ketchup, so we tweaked the recipe by using BBQ sauce instead. We put them on a bed of teriyaki rice and it was DELICIOUS. We are definitely adding this to our list of favorites!
